Credit Control Corporation (“CCC”) is a debt collection agency based in Virginia, United States. The corporation collects personally identifiable information (“PII”) from its clients, who are primarily medical providers. Between the dates March 2nd, 2023, and March 7th, 2023, sensitive data belonging to thousands of patients was exposed.

CCC’s systems were breached between the dates of March 2nd, 2023, and March 7th, 2023, prompting an investigation into the full extent of the breach. It was soon revealed that bad actors had gained unauthorized access to thousands of clients’ confidential data.
CCC’s client medical providers are implicated in this 6-day data breach, meaning that hundreds of thousands of patients had sensitive information exposed to unauthorized users.
